This news bulletin contains resources for churches, charities and communities to use during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We will aim to send regular resource updates as together we seek to create a Network of Kindness.
#ViralKindness postcards
Caring for our neighbours is one of the most important things we can do at this time.
Together Liverpool, as part of our new Network of Kindness initiative, are promoting postcard resources produced by #ViralKindness - a global movement of care, kindness and mutual support.
The ‘neighbourhood’ postcard has been designed to be used by individuals who are able to offer practical support to their neighbours.
Please personalise these postcards with your details and deliver them to (at most!) 20-30 homes near you. This postcard also offers the opportunity for others to join you in helping your local community.

The ‘churches’ postcard has been designed by Together Liverpool to be personalised by churches looking to coordinate support for their communities. Before using these resources we would encourage churches to consider: How are other churches and charities operating in our area offering support during this time? Can we work together? Is the #ViralKindness movement an appropriate and sustainable way for us to offer support to our community?
Support your local foodbank
Our foodbanks remain a vital part of our support systems. With the situation changing daily, the best thing to do is follow your local foodbank on social media or get in touch directly to see what is needed and how you can help.
In our future mailings we will provide details of how you can volunteer to support foodbank efforts in the times ahead.
If you are unable to donate food items, foodbanks would be very grateful for a monetary donation. Please find below a selection of foodbanks in the Diocese of Liverpool.

Covid-19 Advice in different languages
Do you work with displaced people, or come into contact with those for whom English isn’t their first language? At the time of writing, Doctors of the World provides advice on Covid-19 in English, Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Dari, Farsi, French, Hindi, Kurdish Surani, Malayalam, Mandarin, Pashto, Portuguese, Somali, Spanish, Tigrinya, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese. They are currently working on advice in Polish, Punjabi and Romanian.

Just Finance Help Hub
The Covid-19 outbreak will have a significant impact on our finances and daily lives. Just Finance Foundation have developed a resource hub answering important questions such as ‘Will I get sick pay’ and ‘How do I budget for this period?’ and ‘I’m in debt- what now?’ Please direct individuals and organisations to this important resource.

NCVO have provided general guidance for charities and organisations who engage with volunteers.
VS6 have provided guidance specific to the Liverpool city region.
Prayer and worship resources
For some of us this pandemic means worshipping at home, with family members, housemates or alone. For church leaders, this may mean facilitating digital acts or worship or online gatherings.
Together Liverpool have compiled a list of resources that support us to continue to pray and worship in different ways, including resources for those who are self-isolating, a special version of the Examen and prayers and creative ideas for household worship.
