The Archbishops of Canterbury and York and several senior church leaders are asking us all to Pray for the Nation during November 2020 and up to December 2nd. They specifically ask for everyone to join in prayer at 6pm every evening.
So we invite you to join us in a fifteen-minute act of prayer online, via a zoom link This prayer time will be led by various different leaders. Just come as you are and join in with many others. On Friday evenings the prayer will be specially tailored for families and children.
If you want to be part of this then contact centralservices@liverpool.anglican.org for the zoom link
In the Diocese of Liverpool, prayer is an essential part of our existing Rule of Life (Pray, Read, Learn, Tell, Serve and Give) and our Diocesan vision is about ‘Asking God for bigger church making a bigger difference with more people knowing Jesus and more justice in the world.’ So, let us come together to pray for our boroughs, towns, villages, and communities where we serve.
The Cathedral will be using the prayers produced for this occasion at the end of evening prayer so time will vary between 5.50 and 6pm. All the cathedral services during the lockdown will be live-streamed at www.facebook.com/liverpoolcathedral
Ring a Bell at 6pm
Even if you can’t join with us on Zoom, we hope churches will ring a bell to encourage prayer at 6pm and individuals could also set personal alarms on their mobile phones as a reminder to pray at this time, no matter what you are doing or where you are across the diocese.
2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (NRSV)
