'God has blessed and released some wonderful new ministers'

Congratulations to our new deacons and priests who were ordained in a marathon of ordination services which took place over three days at Liverpool Cathedral.

Bishop Paul said:

“In this strange and stressful year, our ordination services were inevitably very different. Instead of thousands of people, we were celebrating at each of our 11 services with just a couple of dozen. Yet despite these services being smaller, all those attending were moved and motivated by the presence of the Spirit, in a way that was perhaps more intense than it would have been if the Cathedral had been full.

I would like to thank the hard-working Cathedral staff, especially Canon Myles, and our outstanding Vocations team, together with our retreat conductors, David Runcorn and Leah Vasey-Saunders. God has blessed and released some wonderful new ministers, called to serve in a wide variety of settings, and Bishop Bev and I rejoice with them and pray for them, their parishes and their loved ones as they continue their journey with Jesus.”
