Bishop John comments on the Coronation

The Bishop of Liverpool, the Rt Revd John Perumbalath has led the tributes to King Charles as we mark his Coronation on Saturday. Bishop John said;

“As we mark this great historic moment in the life of our nation we give thanks for the service of King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Royal Family. The late queen gave our nation an inspiring model of service and duty and I feel certain that the King will approach his role in the same manner. It is a model that we can all follow as Christian disciples called to make a bigger difference in the communities we serve.

I was privileged to be the first bishop to pledge homage to the King and understand how he will be experiencing, as I will in Liverpool, many firsts over the coming months. My prayer is that the King and all called to serve in these roles are reminded that we do this in the love, power, strength, and grace of Christ who loves us. My prayers are with King Charles and the Royal Family this weekend.”

We hope that across our diocese you are taking the opportunity to celebrate and enjoy the weekend through the Big Lunch and Big Help. Don't forget all the resources for the Coronation are on the Church of England website.
