We welcome announcement of energy grants for parishes

First published on: 14th October 2022

The Diocese of Liverpool has welcomed the announcement of the Energy Costs Grant from the Church of England. The grant, which will be distributed by dioceses, is intended to support PCCs with the cost of heating. We will make sure our full share of this grant is transferred to parishes as soon as possible and are working out the fairest system for this distribution. We will write to parish treasurers early next week with the full details.

Archdeacon Simon Fisher commented “ we are grateful for the help the energy support grant brings to parishes and our determination to target it to those in greatest need. This will not solve all the challenges we face and we will continue to work with the national church on further support. However, we hope that this will provide some support with the challenge of energy costs”
