Reverend Ian Elliott

Were sad to let people know that Reverend Ian Elliott died on Thursday 15th April. Ian was well known to many across the Diocese of Liverpool, having been ordained here in 1966. He served at St Nicholas' & St Marys Halewood (where he met and married local school teacher Veronica (Ronnie), St Lukes & All Saints Crosby, St Marks Dallam, St Pauls Fazakerley, and Holy Trinity Warrington town centre, until retiring up to Cumbria. He and Ronnie loved being part of the Liverpool Diocese where a lot of their work was ecumenical (always close to Ian's heart), this including much involvement in peace and reconciliation ministry and a number of initiatives following the Warrington bombings in 1993. He also supported a very wide range of missionary work and his love of traveling took him to meet many of his overseas' contacts, especially through CMS.

Ian’s funeral service will take place on Friday 30th April, 12:30 pm at St James' Church in Tebay, and will be available for any who would like to watch it live online or at any point afterward via this link: https://youtu.be/DT8qusrfRAQ

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ronnie, their children - Michael, Peter, Simon (currently Team Vicar in Maghull & Melling), and Louise, and all Ians wider family and friends.
