Church and Community Development

Churches and community development are helped in various ways by the department:

Community development workers can participate in an action learning group and training events via the community development forum along with consultancy advice and assistance.

Churches considering how to move forward in vision can have assistance in either a parish audit or a facilitator for an away day to start a process of parish development planning.

Parishes wishing to explore their communities’ needs can have assistance with a geographic mapping of areas of upper multiple deprivation.

There is also a new audit programme jointly developed with Tearfund UK called Discovery which operates as a lay learning programme discovering through developing a practical piece of work. This stands alongside the Small Parish Audit pack and Church Urban Fund audits and feasibility programmes.
