This week we meet Rev Chris Daniel-McKeigue who serves at Carr Mill St David and Riverbank Cafe Church.
In the next of our new deacon profiles Chris Daniel-McKeigue, who serves at Carr Mill St David and Riverbank Cafe Church.
Carr Mill St David and Riverbank Cafe Church have welcomed Chris Daniel-McKeigue as their new Deacon. Chris was born in Huyton and lived in South London for nearly ten years before moving back to Merseyside.
Chris is a qualified dramatherapist and a play therapist, and was awarded her PhD for research into Play Therapy in 2009.
Prior to ordination, she worked as a practitioner in an NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health team and as a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader on a University Play Therapy Training Course. Chris will combine her new role at Carr St David and Riverbank with her working life.
Chris has been involved with church in various roles, including the PCC.
Chris’ ordination training allowed her to experience Pioneer Ministry, something that she would like to develop in the future. Pioneer ministry involves establishing different expressions of church outside of the church building in places such as cafes, workplaces or high streets, with the aim of engaging people who are not yet members of any church.
Chris said: “I have been given a really warm welcome both at St David's and Riverbank Cafe Church. I am looking forward to thinking creatively about how we can participate in demonstrating God's love – to find out what God is doing and to join in!”
