The Liverpool Diocesan Board of Education is involved with 118 schools in the diocese. Of these, 82 are Voluntary Aided and 36 Voluntary Controlled. 6 of these are secondary schools. The Diocese is also involved with St Francis of Assisi Academy, a joint project with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool.
