Support For Treasurers

Resources and Support for Church Treasurers

The role of a Church Treasurer is a crucial one for the parish. Not only does it (together with all PCC members and in some cases DCC members) carry legal responsibilities commensurate with being a Charity Trustee, but the role also enables the Church Council to both plan for mission and enable the resourcing of mission.

The Resources Department provides help to Church Treasurers through people, training, mentoring and support, and resources.

Help for Treasurers

The most important help for most treasurers is one to one help. For this type of support please contact Ian Taylor. A network of Honorary Advisors also exists to provide local help and support.

Each Autumn, Treasurer and Gift Aid Secretary Conferences are held across the diocese, to provide an opportunity for all Treasurers to receive the latest charity accounting changes, updates and guidance. As a part of these conferences training sessions are also provided for new treasurers and new gift aid secretaries. Follow the following link for the handouts supplied during last Autumn's training sessions.
