Cologne and Liverpool its people, universities, commerce, community organisations and churches are twinned – the first German and English cities to initiate such a partnership in 1952.
Joined by a desire to celebrate peace, unity and personal development we are marking the 100th Anniversary of the end of the First World War with guests from Cologne Churches with whom Merseyside’s churches have linked through Churches Together in the Merseyside Region for nearly four decades.
The event will include talks,workshops and a performance entitled Mulieres Motus Liberi - (Women Move in Peace) by The Mothers’ Day Project, an umbrella name for a project that responds to the notion of Mothering and Peace through performance, dialogue and the Digital Homeland an online space for artists to share their work.
This event will be followed by an Ecumenical service at the Metropolitan Cathedral on Sunday, November 25th 3.00 p.m. attended by Church leaders from Liverpool and Cologne. All welcome.
