WaterAid invite churches to join Jars of Change to transform communities with clean water for the very first time. WaterAid have created a range of free resources available for churches to inspire their congregations.
In the previous years, the support of churches across the UK has helped us to reach thousands of people with clean water, changing lives for good.
As we have done in previous years, we are asking churches to join Jars of Change by giving up something over Lent and donating the money saved to WaterAid. Churches can order a free resource pack to arrive in the post and download extra resources from our website, including a film, poster, Sunday School activities and an all-age talk.
Using the resources, congregations will be able to learn about the water crisis and life for children around the world - children like 11-year old Maliya who lives in Malawi, where 1 in 3 people don’t have clean water. Maliya is forced to make a choice between long and dangerous walks to collect water and going to school, risking her safety and health every single day, missing out on education and putting her future opportunities at stake.
This shouldn’t be normal. But for many children like Maliya, it is. By Joining Jars of Change, churches can help bring clean water to communities like Maliya’s, so that children can live a happier, healthier life and are able to realise their potential.
You’ll find the appeal webpage at www.wateraid.org/uk/lent
where churches can order a free resource pack, watch our film and download extra resources too.
