Join us in prayer as Tell Serve Give approaches

First published on: 21st February 2019

As Tell Serve Give approaches and bishops join us across the Diocese, please pray for the mission.

If you’re looking for inspiration Andy Dykes, Cathedral Evangelist has set up prayer stations in the Chapter House at Liverpool Cathedral. Set around a central blackboard with a map of the Diocese, the three prayer stations encourage us all to explore the meaning the elements of this mission – Tell, Serve, Give.

The first station, looks at Tell, asking us to think about who we can tell the story of Christ to. In the second you’re invited us to consider how the churches across the Diocese are serving the region. In the third, you’re asked to consider how you might live a generous lifestyle counter to the culture we live in.

 He told us,

“The mission of the church has always gone hand-in-hand with seeking God in prayer. That’s why in preparation for Tell Serve Give we are spending two weeks praying for the churches in our Diocese. We have set aside the Chapter House in the Cathedral to be a place of prayer for this, where anyone can come to pray for our region and the church’s mission to be a blessing there.”

Our Diocesan Prayer

As we pray for Tell Serve Give 2019 we say our diocesan prayer

Together with all disciples in the Diocese of Liverpool we say

Loving Father,
by your grace we long to see
more people knowing Jesus,
and more justice in your world.
Help us to live as your disciples in the power of the Spirit
and to work to your praise and glory.
