Archbishop Blanch Memorial Lecture will be out of this world

"The annual Archbishop Blanch Memorial Lecture always encourages us to think big about matters of believing. This year's event will be out of this world as our distinguished Guest Speaker is Rev'd Professor David Wilkinson, theologian and scientist at Durham University. His theme is ' Christ, Cosmos and Creation' - a fascinating and important topic that will challenge us to reflect on the relationship between science and religion as we learn more and more about the wonders and mystery of the extraordinary universe.

Today we know ourselves to be in the centre of immensities far more vast than we ever imagined and the unfolding spectacle now revealed to us by science presents important questions concerning the divine purpose in creation and the uniqueness of God's revelation in Christ.

Professor Wilkinson is an engaging and accessible speaker and on the evidence of his previous visits to the Diocese, we can expect a stimulating and enjoyable evening. The lecture is on Thursday 17th October 2019 in the EDEN Lecture Theatre, Liverpool Hope University. It's free and everyone is welcome."
