How we make sure we have a presence in every community

Every community is served by a parish. These vary in size depending on whether it is in a rural or urban area. We group our parishes into larger areas, called deaneries. Each deanery is overseen by an Area Dean whose role is to support the local clergy.

Deaneries are grouped into four larger Archdeaconeries. These are Liverpool, Knowsley & Sefton, St Helens & Warrington and Wigan & West Lancashire each are served by an individual Archdeacon.
