#WeRemember

It was great to see some great photos of your Remembrance Sunday events. Thanks for sharing with us on Facebook, Twitter and email.

Each of the children at Gwladys St School Everton are remembering a solider who died in WW1. They have painted their soldier's portrait and this remembrance day they made a poppy in remembrance of their solider. Ordinary men and boys who lived in our parish 100 years ago...and died on the field of conflict. Today we prayed for peace on this earth and a time when:

they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war any more.

St Philip & St Paul with Wesley, Southport adorned their Easter cross with a poppy for every name on the war memorials in the church from WW1 and the names of anyone people from the congregation or local community gave them.

We also recieved photos from Remembrance services at Huyton Town Centre Abram Parish Church, St Thomas and St Luke, Ashton in Makerfield, St Philip and St Paul with Wesley, St Marys Wavertree, St Anne Stanley and Bikershaw Parish Church. View Gallery to the right.
