Supporting Traidcraft's pioneering mission

"Fighting Poverty Through Trade" Traidcraft sells the UK's widest range of fair trade products, runs life-changing development projects and campaigns hard to bring about trade justice.

Bishop Paul and Bishop Richard strongly encourage churches to back Traidcraft's pioneering mission. They need your support to continue to make trade fairer for the world's poorest producers who still desperately need our help.

Andy Biggs, Chief Executive of Traidcraft said "We urgently need your help. Despite the growth in Fairtrade sales, we've seen Traidcraft sales significantly decline. Why? People buy in supermarkets instead of buying from Traidcraft. The decline in sales means our pioneering mission is now under serious threat."

Traidcraft's plea is simple...
  • Ensure there is a Traidcraf Fair Trader in as many churches as possible and that your congregations offer them support and buy products through them.
  • Serve Traidcraft refreshments in church, not just those with the Fairtrade mark on.
  • Participate in the Autumn 'show you care campaign' and place your orders for Christmas cards, gifts and festive food.
Andy continued "That's really all we're asking; for support. Together, we will continue to make trade fairer for the world's poorest producers who still desperately need our help."
