St Marys Wavertree awarded for the 3rd consecutive time as a Child Friendly Church

Congratulations to St Mary's Wavertree who were presented with the Child Friendly Church Award for the third consecutive time on Sunday. A great achievement.

Rev June Asquith said “St Mary's are thrilled that we have now received the Church Child Friendly Award for the third time. It is really important to us that St Mary's is a church for all ages and that children are valued and seen as part of the church now and not the church of the future. Thanks to Sue and the Diocese for their confidence in us and we aim to continue to build a community where all have the opportunity to deepen their faith and are accepted and loved.”

Sue Mitchell, Children and Families Missioner presented the award on behalf of the diocese. Sue said "I really enjoyed being part of a truly All Age celebration which involved Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Sunday school .Two young people helped Rev June in leading the service, all those involved in working with children and youth received Thanks and gifts .In all it was a wonderful morning and a credit to the hard work St Mary's continues to put in to working with its young people."
