News on changes in Wigan, Warrington and Altcar and Hightown

Wigan - from February 3rd

The Benefice of St Barnabas Marsh Green with St Mark Newtown will be dissolved and new benefice, the Benefice of St Mark Newtown created. The area of the new benefice comprises the parish of St Mark Newtown Pemberton (the name of which will be the Parish of St Mark Newtown)

A new benefice named the Benefice of St Barnabas Marsh Green will be created, comprising of the parish of St Barnabas Marsh Green Wigan (the name of which will be the Parish of St Barnabas Marsh Green).

Warrington - from February 3rd

Uniting the benefices of St Ann, Warrington and Holy Trinity, Warrington. The new benefice will be named The benefice of Holy Trinity and Saint Ann, Warrington and comprise the parish of Saint Ann, Warrington and the parish of Holy Trinity, Warrington, which parishes shall continue distinct.

Altcar and Hightown - from February 4th

The benefice of Altcar and Hightown will be dissolved and a new benefice of St Michael and All Angels, Altcar created. This will be united with Holy Trinity Formby to create a new benefice of Holy Trinity Formby and St Michael and all Angels, Altcar. The area of the new benefice will comprise the parish of Altcar and the parish of Holy Trinity Formby, these parishes remaining distinct.

The creation of a new benefice of St Stephen Hightown, the area of which comprises the parish of St Stephen Hightown.
