Meet our new deacons - part 2

Following on from this year's ordination services, we now explore the stories and calling of our new deacons.

Andy Baker

Andy will be serving in the 'Maghull Team Ministry' in Maghull and Melling. He is passionate about teaching and discipling people and releasing people in the gifts God has given them. He is looking forward to working with the team and meeting all the people in the four churches there.

David Hamlett

David will be serving in the Parish of Christ Church, Ince and St Catharines, Scholes Wigan. It is an exciting time in Wigan, with the Transforming Wigan Project of which David will be part of as an OLM. He looks forward to seeing what God has planned in the renewal of the community and being "a small part of that huge plan."

Rachel Sheehan

Rachel will be based in the centre of Wigan. It  is a mixed mode curacy split 50/50 - 50% based in a Church plant called Gateway in the middle of one of the shopping arcades within the centre and the other 50% spent in the more inherited model of parish ministry, across a variety of churches within the partnership. Rachel is particularly passionate about pioneering, being creative, starting new things and about meeting people who are on the edges of our society.
