Lent and Spring Courses 2015

Lent comes early this year and with it the promise of Spring and the renewal of things.

I’ve spent part of the dark days of Winter putting a new programme of learning together. Below are details of events around the Diocese that I hope will be of interest to learners, old and new.

We begin at Liverpool Hope University at the end of February when a morning seminar will explore the roots of the deeply mystical spirituality of Christianity throughout the ages. In March there is a Lent Evening Course arranged for the Winwick Deanery that is open to everyone. Over four weeks we shall consider what it means to live with confidence and expectation as Christians at a time when our message and values are frequently ignored.  In April and early May a series of evening meetings will be held in Liverpool, Southport and Aughton on the themes of hope and redemption, the modern experience of mortality and illness, and the significance of silence within the long and complex history of Christianity. In late April I have also been invited to lead a Study Day at the Tabor Carmelite Retreat House in Preston on the life and spirituality of Josephine Butler, who is commemorated in our own Liverpool Cathedral.

I look forward to welcoming you to these events. You can contact me on 07754812915 or email me at holytrinitysouthport@gmail.com if you would like further information or download a copy of the leaflet here.
