The Bishop of Warrington is once again leading pilgrims on a tour of some of our faiths most important sites and he leads his popular pilgrimage in 2017.
The itinerary of the trip includes visits to Jerusalem, to Galilee, the Mount of the Beatitudes, Capernaum, Cana and many more significant holy places. All this accompanied by an experienced local Palestinian guide.
Bishop Richard said “I warmly invite anyone from any denomination to join us on this moving pilgrimage to the Holy Lands. Being a pilgrim there earths one’s faith. Visiting and venerating the place of Christ’s birth in Bethlehem or the actual place of his Crucifixion in Jerusalem impresses the reality of what we have read in the Bible. Nowhere is more moving or evocative than the Sea of Galilee where fishermen still cast their nets on the water.”
A previous pilgrim added “The Holy Land packs more culture, history and archaeology into its tiny space than anywhere else in the world and I strongly commend the diocesan pilgrimage 2017 as an opportunity to experience this but most of all as a time to draw closer to God."
