Liverpool's St George's Hall has been transformed into Narnia thanks to more than 450 volunteers from churches and Christian organisations around the Diocese. (Photographs by Jim Keelan).
The Narnia Experience, produced by Christian chartity In Another Place, is an interactive drama trail around St George's Hall, where visitors can meet Mr Tumnnus, the White Witch and Aslan, and learn about themes such as temptation, loyalty and sacrifice.
In Another Place specialises in bringing the Christian message to the public in innovative and creative ways, and previous projects have included telling the Nativity story on Crosby beach.
The Narnia experience opened on February 7th and will run for two weeks. Schools have booked all daytime places in the first week, but the public can visit from 4pm-7pm. The whole of the second week is open to the public, and around 15,000 visitors are expected to attend this magnificent event over the two weeks.
Annie Spiers, Head of In Another Place
said, “For Narnia fans we hope this will be an unforgettable experience where visitors actually walk through the story, through a forest of 80 pine trees, visit Mr Tumnus in his house and the scary White Witch.
"The set, costumes and scenery has been created by a huge team of volunteers - this is Liverpool demonstrating the power of community - volunteers pooling their creative skills to put on an event for ordinary people to enjoy, and in one of the most prestigious buildings in our city! Don't miss it - it will probably never happen again."
The Narnia Experience was firstly carried out back in 2009, when over 3,000 people visited Old Christ Church in Waterloo to see the production, with 78 different classes from 30 schools visiting.
