Historic churches set to open their doors during Heritage Open Days

Several churches across the diocese will open their doors to the public on the weekend of the 10th and 11th September as part of Heritage Open Days 2016.

Heritage Open Days is England's biggest heritage festival involving 40,000 volunteers. It celebrates our fantastic history, architecture and culture and offers people the opportunity to see hidden places and try out new experiences - all of which are FREE to explore.

This year’s Heritage Open Days takes place between Thursday 8th and Sunday 11th September and we are pleased to announce many of our diocese’s churches will be taking part.

Ian Simpson, Heritage Officer, has produced a guide booklet featuring the participating churches involved. Download box to the right.

Watch Ian speaking about Heritage Open Days on Faith Matters broadcast by Bay TV Liverpool.
