There have been a number of Clergy appointments in our diocese recently. We list them here.

Ordination of Deacons on 26th June 2016 at Liverpool Cathedral
  • Rev Pete Atkinson – serving within the West Warrington Team
  • Rev Sandra Doore – serving at Gateacre St Stephen
  • Rev Andy Radford – serving at Much Woolton St Peter
  • Rev Stewart McTaggart – serving at Warrington St Elphin
  • Rev Matt Davies – serving at Toxteth St Philemon
  • Rev Sam Green – serving at Ashton in Makerfield St Thomas
  • Rev Ruth Pryce – serving within the 4Saints Team
  • Rev Alec Parkinson – serving at Pemberton St John

Appointments
  • Rev Jean Winn – has been appointed as NSM at Anfield St Margaret.  Jean was licenced on 29th May 2016 by the Bishop of Warrington.
  • Rev Dave Griffith-Jones – has been appointed as the Team Rector of the Drypool Team Ministry in the Diocese of York.  He will be instituted by the Bishop of Hull at St Columba Drypool on 15th July 2016.
  • Rev Paul Lock – has been appointed as Interim Assistant Curate to the benefices of the Upholland Team and Dalton St Michael for a period of up to 9 months.  He was licenced by Bishop Richard on 19th June 2016.
  • Rev Jude Padfield – has been appointed as Associate Priest at St James in the City following completion of his Curacy.  He was licensed by the Archdeacon of Liverpool on 3rd July 2016.
  • Rev Norma Arnold – has been appointed as NSM to the benefice of Grassendale St Mary following the completion of her curacy.  Norma will be licenced by the Archdeacon of Liverpool on 7th July 2016.
  • Rev Dr Ian Wynne – has been appointed as NSM to the benefice of Haydock St James following the completion of his curacy.  Ian will be licenced by the Archdeacon of St Helens and Warrington on 10th July 2016.
  • Rev Philip Turner – has been appointed as NSM to Netherley Christ Church following the completion of his curacy.  Phil was licenced by the Archdeacon of Liverpool on 19th June 2016.
  • Rev Dr Chris Stafford – Chris will be instituted as Team Rector of the Newton Team by the Bishop of Warrington on 24th July 2016.
  • Mrs Lesley Wright – has been appointed as Local Missional Leader at Farnworth St Luke where she is currently a licenced Reader.  Lesley will be commissioned by the Archdeacon of St Helens and Warrington on 24th July 2016.
  • Rev Pauline Rowe – has been appointed as Team Vicar of the Parr Team.  Pauline will be licenced by the Bishop of Warrington on the 8th August 2016.
  • Ms Doreen Taylor – has been appointed as Local Missional Leader at St Paul’s Goose Green where she is currently a Reader with PTO.  Doreen will be commissioned by the Archdeacon of Wigan and West Lancashire on 18th September 2016.
  • Rev Canon Stephen Boyd – currently Vicar of Orford St Margaret and Area Dean of Warrington has been appointed as the Rector of West Derby St Mary and St James.  An institution date has not yet been confirmed.
  • Rev Margaret Jennings – has been appointed as OLM to Pemberton St Mark Newtown following the completion of her curacy.  A licensing date has not yet been confirmed.
  • Rev Geoff Ardern – has been appointed as NSM to the Maghull and Melling Team following the completion of his curacy.  A licensing date has not yet been confirmed.
  • Ven John Day – currently Interim Minister at West Derby St Mary and St James has been appointed as the Archbishop’s Advisor for Mission Strategy and Church Revitalisation, Assistant Chaplain to the Archbishop of York and Priest in Charge of St Chad’s on the Knavesmire in the Diocese of York.  John’s last Sunday at West Derby will be on 24th July 2016.

Retirements
  • Rev Ruth Stock – retired on 12th June 2016 from the St Luke in the City Team Ministry.
  • Rev Nigel Hawley – has retired from his post as Chaplain at HMP Risley on the 30th June 2016.

Finished in Post
  • Rev Penny Leeman – completed her curacy as Assistant Curate at Kirkdale St Athanasius on 12th June 2016.
  • Rev Petra Elsmore – has completed her post as Chaplain to Liverpool Women’s Hospital and Adelaide House on 3rd July 2016 to move to Oxford Diocese.
