A new viral video set in an airport arrivals lounge is being used to teach the Nativity Story.
The Three Wise Men travel on Camel Airlines via Herod International and the Shepherds, flying Star Air, are asked to go the information desk, ‘where the Heavenly Host is waiting.’
The video ‘Check the screens...He’s on His Way’ i
s the latest to be launched by Mersey Christmas as part of their 2010 Christmas Starts With Christ Campaign. The airport setting is used to convey the anticipation ahead of Christ’s arrival, and it is hoped that people will share the video link with others or join the Mersey Christmas facebook page.
Research has revealed that 85 per cent of people agree with the statement that "Christmas should be called Christmas because we are still a Christian country". However, it also shows that only 12 per cent of adults know the facts of the Christmas story in any detail.
Other video and audio downloads on the website www.merseychristmas.co.uk i
nclude the proud father Joseph leaving a jubilant voicemail message to his family about the birth of Jesus. Underpinning the video and audio is the message ‘He’s on His Way’ and the image of a baby scan of Jesus in the womb.
The campaign is supported by the Diocese of Liverpool, Together for the Harvest, Methodist, Baptist and United Reformed Churches, The Salvation Army, North West Christian Business Forum, Churches Together in Merseyside Region, Liverpool Free Church Council and others.
Howard Sharp, of the United Reformed Churches said, "Refocusing Christmas on Christ is the task of all Christians and reminding people how God comes to the world in the ordinary circumstances of the birth of a child to dignify our humanity is where the gospel starts. This Christmas advertising campaign does just that."
