Bishop James gives thanks for prayers

Bishop James thanks people from across the Diocese and beyond for their prayers whilst he is in hospital.

Bishop James’ coronary artery bypass operation went well this week and he is now starting the recovery process.

The Bishop and Sarah would like to thank Mr. Fabri (his surgeon), Mr. Ramsdale and all the staff at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital for their excellent skill, dedication and care during his time there. The hospital’s personalised care is an outstanding example of what the NHS can be.

They have also been overwhelmed by the messages of love and support they have received.

Bishop James said “I’m deeply grateful to God and humbled by the sense of His presence that has sustained me in answer to so many prayers across the Diocese. Thank you – with all my heart”.

Following a routine angiogram Bishop James had an elective coronary artery bypass operation at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

As a result he is expected to be away from his duties for at least three months, during which time Bishop Richard Blackburn, the Bishop of Warrington, will take over his duties.

We would ask that you continue to keep Bishop James, Sarah and the rest of the family in your prayers at this time.
