Assistant Bishop, The Right Reverend Cyril Ashton

Bishop Cyril is a retired bishop from the Diocese of Sheffield. He supports our diocese through conducting parish weekends and through the ministry of Confirmation.
He says “I see myself as a major personal support for +Richard and enjoy the many occasions when I can be alongside him in this challenging and invigorating Diocese. I enjoyed the opportunity to learn from +James and look forward to the new appointment. I love being involved in the ministry of Confirmations and relish engagement with parishes conducting parish weekends, quiet days and retreats. I have a keen interest in training and was privileged to be involved in the development of St Mellitus. I have a particular role with the Wigan Deanery and enjoy immensely my contacts with parishes and clergy in that part of our Diocese.”
