By popular demand, we shall be returning to Liverpool’s unique St James in the City Church for our 2017 pre-Conference Service. The service provides the opportunity to reflect on the needs of Education and to pray specifically for the work of Conference.
The original church building dates from 1775. Having been closed in the 1970s it was re-opened in 2010, but with the building in a semi-derelict condition a marquee was erected within the church to allow the resumption of worship. It is now a vibrant inner city church with a regular congregation of students and young families.
Their regular Sunday meeting is in the afternoon, and our ATL service will follow at 6.30 pm, led jointly by the St James worship team and members of ATL. This year our speaker is to be the Rt Rev Paul Bayes, Bishop of Liverpool.
The ATL Pre-Conference Service is open to any who would like to attend, whether or not members of ATL.
Tea, coffee, fruit juice and biscuits will be available for those arriving early or those wishing to stay for a chat after the service.

Warning St James still has only one compost toilet so the advice is “Go before you come”.
