ACE Awards Scheme 2015

The Association for Church Editors is (ACE) has launched its annual national Awards Scheme to celebrate and recognise the work of local church magazine editors and their editorial teams.

The John King Trophy will be awarded to the overall winner for one year
The last two Awards were aimed at A5 magazines. This time, the criteria for entry are:
  • A4 size – or other sizes very near to this.
  • Both black & white and colour productions will be accepted.
  • Not less than four issues per year.
  • With a print run of not less than 50 copies.
A framed Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to the winning entry in each of the following categories:
  • Cover design
  • Overall layout & structure
  • Creativity of headlines
  • Use of graphics
  • Clarity of the Christian message
  • Appeal to a wider community
The overall winner will receive The John King Trophy (to be held for one year) as well as an inscribed trophy to keep and a framed certificate.

The ACE Awards Scheme is open to publications from all Christian denominations.  In submitting your entry, please indicate:
  • The name, email address and telephone number of the editor.
  • The people directly involved in producing the publication and in what capacity.
  • The type of Christian church or group from which the publication emanates.
  • The regular print run.
  • How frequently the magazine or newsletter is published.
  • Its principal aims and target audience.
How to submit your entries:
The closing date for entries is Saturday 7th February 2015. We require two copies of two issues produced during the previous 12 months. One should relate to Easter or Christmas. The review process will be based on paper magazines, so please do not forward electronic versions.

Please note:
  • We do not have the administrative capacity to return the magazines.
  • We will display the winning entries and highlight particularly good examples at our Annual Meeting on 9th May 2015 and on our website. In sending us your magazines, you grant us permission to include yours in this presentation.
